I just got a new car. My permit is on my old car. Do I need to pay another registration fee?
No. As long as you have previously registered a vehicle, a new sticker can be issued to you.

I just received a parking violation that I think was given unfairly. What should I do?
You may submit an online appeal form. Appeals must be filed within 10 calendar days of the violation. An appeals committee consisting of staff and student members will hear your appeal. A copy of the decision will be mailed to the email address you specify on your appeal form.

If I turn on my hazard lights, will I still receive a parking violation?
Yes. An inappropriately parked vehicle will receive a ticket with or without flashers.

If I leave a note on my vehicle explaining why I am parked in a particular location, will I still receive a parking violation?
Yes. An inappropriately parked vehicle will receive a ticket with or without a note. Parking enforcement and police officers do not recognize notes as valid parking permits. Please call Parking Services to request a Prior Arrangement or after hours call the Police Department.

If I have a handicap permit or plates, do I still need to display a UR parking permit?
Yes. All vehicles on the University of Richmond campus must be registered with Parking Services. Please call our office or come by for a permit and parking information.

Where can I pay my parking violations?
No money is accepted in the Parking Services office. All fees can be paid at Student Accounts, which is located on the 3rd floor of the Queally Center.

My vehicle has broken down on campus. What do I do?
Call the University of Richmond Police Department at 289-8715. An officer will come out to your vehicle to assist you.

The Campus Loop has stopped running for the night. Can I park my car near my residence hall?
Please call the University of Richmond Police Department at 289-8715 after the shuttle has stopped running.

I have a rental car while my registered vehicle is in the shop being repaired. Do I need to register this vehicle?
Yes. Please come by the Parking Services office (Special Programs Building, 1st floor) to obtain a temporary parking permit.

I am using a car that is only going to be on campus for a couple of weeks. Do I need to register it?
Yes. Please come by the Parking Services office (Special Programs Building, 1st floor) to obtain a temporary parking permit.

I am a visitor to the University of Richmond. Do I need to register my car?
Yes. Please complete our online form to obtain a visitor parking pass.

Do parking restrictions change when school is not in session?
Parking rules are in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including breaks. During the summer, student vehicles with a valid permit are allowed to park in any student lot but are still restricted from faculty, staff, and visitor spaces. Valid permits include temporary tags with a student lot designation and permits from the fall/spring semester of that academic year.

Please call the University of Richmond Police Department at 289-8715. The communications officer will be able to tell you where your vehicle is located.

I need a permit for my parents/friends who are visiting this weekend. What do I do?
Come by the Parking Services office (Special Programs Building, 1st floor) to get a visitor parking permit. Be sure to bring the visiting vehicle’s license plate number with you.

I have an extenuating circumstance today, and I need to park outside of my assigned lot. Can you help me?
