Game Day Parking Policies

Parking Lots Closed on Game Days
Football Games

Parking lots B1- B7, R18 - R23 will be closed to all vehicles starting at 2 a.m. This means that any vehicle found parked in the parking lots off Boatwright or Campus Drive after 2 a.m. Saturday morning will be towed. Faculty/staff vehicles or vehicles not displaying a University of Richmond permit will be towed off campus. This regulation will be strictly enforced. Parking lots B1 - B7 will reopen at 9 a.m. for vehicles with reserved parking passes. Faculty/staff members without an official Athletic reserved parking pass must park in general parking areas inside the Main or Westhampton gate.

Basketball Games

The parking lots B3, B4, B5, B6 and B7 off Boatwright Drive, will close two hours before the start of the men's basketball game. Vehicles remaining in these lots will receive a $40.00 parking citation. Vehicles displaying a 'X' permit ONLY will be exempt from citations within their designated area of parking lot (see diagram).  All other vehicles will be ticketed.  This regulation also pertains to vehicles displaying a Student Athlete parking permit. 

Vehicles assigned to parking lot B6 must park in the unnumbered spaces closes to the dorms (see diagram). 

All other student vehicles should be parked in their assigned parking lot.  Commuter student vehicles can be parked in the parking lots off Gateway Road.

Faculty and staff vehicles not displaying a Spider Club parking pass may park in the last two rows of the parking lot (see diagram) or in parking lots in the interior of the campus.   

Please Do NOT ask RMC attendants where you should park as they are not employed by the University and are not aware of the parking regulations.

Visitor Parking
Football Games

General ticket holders will be allowed to park in the general parking area on campus.  Parking lots off Boatwright Drive, Richmond Way and Campus Drive are reserved parking and are only available to vehicles displaying the appropriate parking pass.  The Football Game Day Map shows the Permitted and General parking areas along with the incoming traffic flow.

Basketball Games

General ticket holders will be allowed to park in the general parking area on campus.  Parking lots off Boatwright are reserved parking and are only available to vehicles displaying the appropriate parking pass.  The Basketball Game Day Map shows the Permitted and General parking areas along with the incoming and exiting traffic flow.

Resident Student Parking
Football Games

Parking lots B1 - B7 off Boatwright Drive and R18 - R23 off Richmond Way will be reserved parking only, starting at 2am on home football game days.  Student vehicles parked in these lots will receive a $100.00 citation and may be towed to a location on the Westhampton side of campus. Vehicles not displaying a current student parking permit will be towed off campus.

Vehicles displaying an ‘X’ permit must be moved to the commuter section of R10 by 2am the morning of home football games.  Vehicles can be moved to R10, Rows A, B, or C, as early as Friday at 3pm and no later than Saturday at 2 am.  Vehicles may be moved back to B6 at the end of the game and all vehicles should be moved back to B6 by Sunday at 8pm.

Basketball Games

Vehicles displaying an ‘X’ permit must be moved to the unnumbered spaces in lot B6, closest to the dorms. If these spaces are full, the student is responsible for moving their vehicle to the assigned lot off Crenshaw Way. Failure to move by the assigned time may result in the vehicle being issued a citation or towed at the owner’s expense.

Vehicles displaying an ‘A’, ‘K’, ‘N’, ‘R’, or ‘W’ permit are still restricted from parking in lot B6 and any other lots as noted in SpiderBytes.

After 5 pm on basketball game days you will be able to find available parking in the faculty/staff parking lots off Richmond Way or Gateway Road. Do not ask parking attendants where you should park as they are not employed by the University and are not aware of the parking regulations.

Commuter Student Parking
Football Games

Vehicles displaying a ‘C', 'G', ‘J', ‘L' or ‘U' permit will be allowed to park in parking areas inside the campus (color-coded orange on the Game Day Parking Map).

Basketball Games

Vehicles displaying a ‘C’, ‘G’, or ‘U’ permit are restricted from parking in lot B5 and may park in the un-numbered spaces of B6 on the day of the basketball game.  Lot B3 is available for vehicles displaying a 'J' or 'L' permit only. Be sure to watch for SpiderBytes and emails from Parking and Transportation concerning game day parking.

Carpool and Hybrid Parking
Football Games

In keeping with the University of Richmond’s sustainability commitment the University reserves parking lot B1 for vehicles that meet the sustainability requirements.  The sustainability requirements are vehicles deemed as Hybrid by their manufacturer or vehicles that contain six (6) or more passengers.  Passes will not be required and the lot will be filled on a first come basis.  Lot B1 is located at the intersection of Boatwright Drive and Bostwick Lane.  The lot will open four (4) hours before game time.  Lot B1 is not open to resident student vehicles on game days. 

Basketball Games

There is no lot designated for sustainability parking during basketball season.  Lot B1 is open for general parking.
RVs and Buses

RV and bus drivers must contact Athletics at (804) 289-8759 for information on RV and bus parking.
